Our program, here at BC Children's Hopsital in Vancouver, is working to prevent shaken baby syndrome through a province-wide community-based educational program.
Shaken Baby Syndrome
can be prevented
We believe that providing accurate information about early infant crying, at the right time, can help reduce the number of infants that suffer shaken baby syndrome.
It's Okay to
Walk Away
If your baby is crying and you are very, very frustrated by it, it's okay to put the baby in a safe place and take a break for 10 minutes to calm yourself down.
It's more important to calm yourself before trying to calm the baby.
The Period of PURPLE Crying
