What is CLICK for Babies?

Prevent Shaken Baby Syndrome BC is once again hosting the CLICK for Babies campaign! This public awareness campaign focuses on raising awareness about normal increased infant crying, how to cope with crying and the dangers of reacting in frustration by shaking or harming an infant beyond new and expectant parents and into the broader community.

This year we are asking volunteers to:

knit1-100x100-01KNIT 1 – Start knitting / crocheting newborn caps that are at least 50% purple in new soft washable yarn. Knitting patterns are available for both newborn boys and girls caps. A typical cap size is approximately 14″ / 35cm in circumference and 6″ / 15 cm in height for more information download our cap sizing guidelines (pdf).

tell2-100x100-01TELL 2 – Spread the word about CLICK for Babies campaign, the Period of PURPLE Crying and Shaken Baby Syndrome to friends, family and colleagues. View and download talking points (pdf). The CLICK campaign complements the Period of PURPLE Crying program materials that are provided to all new parents year round in BC. Donated caps will be distributed November and December 2018 along with PURPLE Crying program materials in all BC birthing hospitals and community health units.

give3-100x100-01GIVE 3 – Volunteer your time by knitting or crocheting or donate money to help improve the overall care of infants and decrease the rate of Shaken Baby Syndrome in BC.
